Commercial Lending Assistant

Our Commercial Lending Assistants represent the Bank and our culture of YES in every transaction and customer interaction. As the face and voice of the Bank, our Commercial Lending Assistants are an integral part of our Lending team and work hand-in-hand with their peers and Loan Officers on all manner of loan matters, customer concerns, and needs for the Bank. Success in this role requires excellent communication, customer service, teamwork, and time management skills. We are currently searching for high-potential people to join our Lending team at our Downtown Austin offices located at 600 West 5th Street. This position requires you to spend time in the office.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

As a Commercial Lending Assistant, you will serve as a critical support function, facilitating seamless loan processes, fostering customer relationships, and upholding the Bank’s standards of excellence in service delivery and compliance. Key highlights include:

 

  • Customer Relationship Management. Act as an internal liaison for customers, fostering strong relationships and ensuring top-notch customer service.
  • File Preparation and Management. Prepare credit and financial files for commercial loans, meticulously reviewing tax returns and conducting thorough searches of public records for liens or judgments. You will also be responsible for ordering and assessing real property title reports, ensuring compliance with the Bank’s insurance requirements, and maintaining proper lien positions.
  • Loan Processing. Handle file preparation, loan packaging, and exception processing. This involves collecting and scrutinizing documents for accuracy, ensuring all conditions are met, and managing exceptions effectively.
  • Financial Data Analysis. Collect, monitor, and analyze various financial data relevant to loans, including Flood Verifications, IRS Verifications, UCC Searches, Judgment and loan searches, Title Insurance, Key Man Life Insurance, Appraisals, Environmental Reports, Account Payoffs, and Entity documents.
  • Collaborate with lenders, peers, and external parties to coordinate timely loan closings. Your role will involve ensuring all required documentation is received promptly and accurately. Additionally, assist in preparing presentations on loans, clients, and pipeline status for managers and senior staff.
  • Demonstrate a steadfast commitment to providing exceptional service experiences to both internal and external customers through clear and professional oral and written communication. This includes adherence to all Bank and Department policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned and/or taken on.

 

AM I THE RIGHT FIT?

The ideal candidate is an experienced banking professional who possesses:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of experience in the banking industry.
  • Optimistic, internally motivated, community-oriented personality; and,
  • Ability to make decisions, create change, and help grow a company – while growing yourself.

 

Preferred skills:

 

  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or any other subject matter which demonstrates both the desire and ability to perform the job duties of this position.
  • 3+ years commercial lending assistant experience.
  • Possess problem solving capabilities, ability to work independently, and excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Direct hands-on experience with real estate and C&I closing and funding.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of closing loan documentation.
  • Have working knowledge of various banking, lending, and mortgage systems.
